Grading: New to the 2nd edition of the Canadian Currency Collection™ software, is a Coin Grading Assistant (CGA). This tool can assist with grading coins, and with further developing your skills in this area. Over 375 obverse images of copper, silver and nickel coins in Proof, Specimen, Proof Like, Mint State and circulated condition are used; using seven different portraits from Queen Victoria to Queen Elizabeth the II. Wherever possible, the next highest and the next lowest graded coin is to each side of the coin whose grade you are trying to determine. This helps to get an appreciation of the subtle differences that exist from one grade to the next.

Grading

With the Coin Grading Assistant, its fun to develop your skill in grading coins. It also adds to the convenience and ease of confirming a type of coin, or its grade.

Use it for assisting with bids made on www.ebay.com, or for assisting with determining the grades of your own coins.

Note that any final grading that is made can only be achieved with experience and with seeing the actual coin under magnification, since there are important characteristics that cannot be conveyed in the limited resolution of printed or computer based images, as found in this tool.
